Overview H&H English-Chinese Dictionary for Pocket PC is a great dictionary for Chinese learners. It includes 70,000+ entries and supports both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. In v2.0, you can not only see the Pin Yin (the official Chinese phonetic system), but also hear a real person's pronunciation for every single Chinese character! To better help you learn the language, we provide a great study tool in this program, which allows you organize your own list of words. You can review the words any time you want, as often as you want, and even test if you have memorized your words! No matter you are already bilingual, a beginner, or just a traveler that needs a translation tool, you will find this dictionary extremely useful! Looking up a word H&H English-Chinese dictionary has three word lists: all, study and recent. You can switch between lists from the main view (the first screen after the program starts up) by clicking the corresponding buttons. The study and recent lists are empty initially. In addition to the main view, the dictionary has a definition view and a study view. The definition view shows a word's Chinese definition. The study view is a tool that helps you memorize a word. At any time you can come back to the main view by clicking into the "Look up" box, located at the top of your screen. The word list will update automatically as you type. When your word appears in the list, click on it to see its Chinese definition. You can also use the scroll bar of the word list to look for your word. Viewing Chinese definition The Chinese definition of a word is displayed in the definition view. To see the previous and next word in the dictionary, use the two orange buttons, located near the upper right corner of the view. Starting with v2, we provide Pin Yin and pronunciation for every Chinese character. Use the Pin Yin switch button on the toolbar to turn on or off the Pin Yin display. You can hear the pronunciation of the Chinese words by clicking the speaker icons. To switch between simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese, use the buttons on the toolbar. Study You can maintain a list of words for study. Use the "Study" button on the main view to go to the study list. Clicking on a word in the study list will bring you to the study view. The screen has two sections in this view. The upper section of the screen shows the currently viewed word, and the lower section shows its Chinese definition. You can use the Show/Hide button Near the bottom of the lower section to turn on or off the Chinese definition. Recent viewed words H&H English-Chinese Dictionary remembers the most recent fifty words you viewed.
